It has been announced that Guoman Hotels has been rebranded as glh., a Singapore-listed company with a second listing on the New Zealand Exchange.
The launch of the new global hotel company is driven by CEO Mike DeNoma, who has extensive plans for the future of the group. As well as developing the operating model of glh., the company also revealed that it plans to launch three new hotel brands over the next 12 months, the first of which will be a luxury brand in July 2013.
The ten year expansion strategy for all the glh. brands, including its four-star Thistle group, will focus on 100 major cities.
glh. is the largest owner-operator hotel company in London with more than 4,000 hotel rooms. In total glh.
has 8,279 bedrooms, 337 meeting rooms across 36 hotels in the UK. The decision means that five of London’s best-known hotels, including The Tower, the Royal Horseguards and the Cumberland, will be rebranded, although the company has yet to reveal the details of the proposed changes.
Mr DeNoma said: “We’re delighted to launch glh. a new hotel company that signifies our intent and ambition to unlock human potential and give property owners and developers a new deal. We want to be the first port of call for developers, owners and investors who want a new deal from a hotel management company.”
The group is also aiming to appeal to hotel owners and developers who might be looking for a new type of ownership and working model, and is calling for those interested to get in contact.
