On Friday 21st June, MP Seema Malhotra visited the site of the striking new 1930s-inspired Ibis Styles London Heathrow East hotel in Hounslow.
Welcomed by Chairman Shiraz Boghani, Vice Chairman Nadeem Boghani of Splendid Hospitality Group and Chief Executive, Stuart Bailey, Ms Malhotra, member of Parliament for Feltham and Heston, supported the project from its early days, and enjoyed a hard hat tour of the development site.
The 125-bedroom property, located on the site of the former The Master Robert Hotel, is set to open in September 2019.
Situated on the Great West Road, Hounslow, the development is in close proximity to Heathrow’s main terminal and will serve both the business traveller and community markets, and is unusual in combining both hotel and private dwelling accommodation.
Taking its influence from nearby early-to-mid-20th century buildings including the Hoover building, Firestone headquarters and Gillette factory, the design-led development will also include a meeting room, dining and car parking.
The interior design will feature the clean lines, neutral curves and geometric patterns of the Art Deco era.
The Splendid Hospitality Group is one of the UK’s fastest growing privately owned hotel groups. Ibis Styles London Heathrow East will be Splendid’s latest franchise with AccorHotels, alongside the Mercure Hotel Leeds Centre, Mercure Bristol Brigstow and Ibis York Centre.
“The Splendid Hospitality board were delighted to welcome Ms Malhotra MP to Heston and we would like to formally thank her for her invaluable assistance in delivering our newest hotel.”
Stuart Bailey, Chief Executive of Splendid Hospitality added:
“Ibis Styles London Heathrow East is the fourth of our franchise partnerships with AccorHotels. Putting a striking design scheme at the heart of our offer, we are looking forward to welcoming our first guests when the hotel opens later in the year.”
Seema Malhotra said “I am pleased to visit Ibis Styles Heathrow East Hotel which will bring jobs, meeting spaces, hotel and private accommodation to a prime location in our community. I wish the new project every success, and my thanks to Splendid Hospitality for their work engaging and supporting the local community.
“Our local area thrives when there are strong relationships between businesses and the community. I look forward to the relationship developing with local people and the support for employment which will contribute to local prosperity.”
Further commenting on their engagement with the local community, Shiraz Boghani, Chairman of Splendid Hospitality, added, “We’re proud to be a key sponsor of Hounslow’s Promise, a local charity which focuses on the belief that the whole community shares a responsibility to help young people succeed”.
