Signature Living Group Chairman Lawrence Kenwright has been shortlisted for a European Diversity Award.

The European Diversity Awards, which take place in London next month (16 November) recognise organisations, CEOs, C-level executives and other business leaders from across the continent that have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion.

The Signature Living co-founder, who is in the running to be named ‘Role Model of the Year’ at the glitzy awards event, is shortlisted alongside major names such as former athlete Donna Fraser and the driving force behind HSBC’s Pride Network, Stuart Barette.

Mr Kenwright, who started his award-winning company in 2008 with wife Katie, has been a leading light in the sphere of equality and diversity having supported causes such as Liverpool Pride, the British LGBT Awards and has even established Signature Living’s internal LGBT network.

The property developer, who works with working class communities to provide young people with jobs and apprenticeship opportunities, also appeared on the National Geographic Channel’s ‘Undercover Angel’. The programme saw the hotel boss offer much needed financial support to a youth organisation operating in the capital.

Speaking about his award nomination, Lawrence Kenwright said:

“To be shortlisted for a European Diversity Award is a huge honour. At Signature Living, we understand the importance of equality and inclusion and the impact it has, both within the company and the communities in which we operate. We have got behind major diversity events because talent comes in all forms and embracing this fact will only help our company to thrive in the future.”

Companies including Deloitte, Accenture and technology giant Intel and global media corporation Viacom were amongst those to scoop top awards in 2016. An expert panel of judges, led by Heathrow’s Pauline Lewis, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, former Member of the European Parliament, Lord Michael Cashman and awards founder, Linda Riley, will decide this year’s winners.
