IHG Appoints New Marketing Director

International Hotels Group (IHG) has revealed David Collyer as the brand’s new director of marketing for UK and Ireland.

The main objective in his new role will be developing and driving marketing strategy across IHG’s company managed hotels, along with overseeing a team of six across all key marketing channels.

Mr Collyer has built his career within IHG over the last six years, where he quickly progressed to the role of marketing manager. During this time, he set a new UK benchmark for marketing return on investment. He ran the successful relaunch of the Holiday Inn brand across 58 hotels and since his career began, he has won many awards including Travelocity and HMA awards and Best Integrated Campaign at the MIMA awards and last year’s as well as IHG’s internal Star Award.

Mr Collyer said: “I’m very excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to the new challenge. A key focus will be placed on driving brand preference and loyalty to outperform the competition in this current economic climate.”

David Taylor, head of commercial at IHG added: “David has delivered strong results and excellent leadership throughout his IHG career. I’m delighted he has been appointed as director of marketing, and I am confident his knowledge and experience will drive the marketing and revenue performance of the business going forward.”
