Royal Warrant holder and multi-award winner Hypnos, has been hand crafting bespoke made-to- measure mattresses and beds for the world’s finest hotels for over 100 years. Their latest collaboration brought together the Shaun Clarkson ID design team and Hypnos’ master craftsmen to create a show-stopping fairy tale bed which has been showcased in the winning ‘Sleep Set’ at this year’s Sleep Event.
The custom, hand built mattress accompanied by divan and headboard which is reminiscent of the natural curves and soft, reflective pastels of an oyster shell, has been specially crafted to combine the comfort and unparalleled support of a Hypnos mattress and the unique design of Shaun Clarkson ID.
“The mattress itself has been custom made to fit the round shape of the divan and generously stuffed with natural, breathable layers of the finest wool,” says Chris Ward, Marketing Director at Hypnos. “This filling complements the intelligent pocket spring technology which actively minimises pressure points on the body, helping to increase blood circulation and alleviate tension. This in turn allows the muscles to relax, so not only does the bed look great, it feels fantastic to sleep on and provides the perfect environment for sleep. Furthermore, the entire bed has also been completely hand built and developed along ethical lines using natural and sustainably sourced materials, including wood from managed forests, ensuring it is 100 per cent recyclable.”
